Steep Endurance
COVID-19K
Trail Challenge
Registration closes April 26

EVENT INFO

With "social distancing" the norm for the foreseeable future, I thought it would be fun to have a virtual event of sorts on the trails.  As you know Steep Endurance puts on events at some amazing preserves, parks, land trusts, and even farms here in CT.  Running trails is simply a great way to decompress and distract from daily life in this current environment that we are experiencing.  The Steep Endurance COVID-19K Trail Challenge or the Coronavirus Outdoor Virtual Independent Diversion is a great way to do this!

Here's the skinny on the virtual event.  Go find either the most beautiful and/or difficult 19K (11.8 miles) of trail near you or you can drive a bit if you like.  Try to explore some trails that you haven't before, some trails that are less traveled.  Get out of your comfort zone a bit and be one with the trail.  Have a little fun with this run!  The idea is for each runner to run "solo" and self supported, complying with the social distancing requests.

In order to help support those in need in this crazy world we live in right now, a significant portion of the proceeds will go to the Connecticut Food Bank.

Founded in 1982 in New Haven, Connecticut Food Bank partners with food retailers, growers, donors, and volunteers to source food and distribute it through a network of community-based programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, residential programs, and day programs that serve adults and children, as well through our Mobile Pantry, GROW Truck and Child Hunger Impact Program (CHIP).
Connecticut Food Bank provides food to hungry adults and children in Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, and Windham counties. Nearly 270,000 people in our service area are food insecure; more than 79,000 children struggle with hunger.
